It is recomended you have your chimney swept at least once a year. (every three months while in use if you burn wood). Other countries have made this annual sweep a legal requirement because it is a genuine safety issue. UK insurance companies are beginning to realise the importance of this and are specifying a requirement for annual sweep certificates.
What we do:

We will sweep the chimney using modern power sweeping methods and clean up all resulting soot and debris.

We will inspect and potentially dismantle and reassemble the appliance to ensure all is functioning safely and efficiently.

We will then issue a certificate giving information of the condition and safety of the appliance and chimney.

We carry out CCTV inspections for many reasons:

We strongly recommend on our initial visit to you that we CCTV inspect the chimney to ensure it is fit for purpose. Over the years we have seen all sorts of problems such as house alterations leaving timbers in the chimney that can catch fire, chimney linings being incomplete despite looking ok from the fireplace, birds nests all but blocking chimneys and so on.

Following a chimney fire a more comprehensive CCTV inspection and report is normally requested by your insurance company.
